Personal Profile
Originally from New York , Doug graduated from Geneva College with a BS in computer science and mathematics. With a background in healthcare systems, it was only natural Doug moved onto Sentient Systems, where he started as a programmer and ended up as a vice president. During his 15 years at Sentient, Doug was involved in a unique and successful approach to technical development training people without computer backgrounds to be programmers, bringing their talents and perspectives to creating innovative technical solutions to business and process challenges. As owner and president of Crown Automated solutions, Doug ’s vast experience, collaborative approach, and “computer creativity” make Doug a perfect a perfect match for the Creosote team.
A certified master in Oracle Database Technologies, Doug is a whiz with all manner of database and backend programming, with experience in multiple platforms (including Unix, Linux and NT servers). In addition to this technical expertise, Doug is an expert at developing business process management (BPM) tools, consulting on and writing programs to optimize processes. He has worked with such diverse clients as Novell, Xerox, Toyota , American Greetings, Morrison & Foerster, Cooper Tires, Hunter Douglas and even the U.S. Department of Defense, CIA and FBI.
Education Experience
In addition to his business, non-profit and government experience, Doug’s clients include, Cornell University, where he developed a prototype purchase order requisition system, complete with a purchase authority approval system and a catalog of approved vendors. He’s also worked with DePaul University to write a maintenance-request system that allows students to use their computers to report damages or needed repairs directly to the maintenance department at any hour of the day or night.
