Company Role
The visual images we use to tell your story must be powerful, engaging, and unique. That’s why it’s so important to have really excellent photography in your corner. The Creosote team has taken care of the difficult part: We’ve handpicked Nick McIntosh as our photographer of choice, so you get to work with one of the best in the business.
For most clients (and for us), photo shoots can be one of the most exciting aspects of developing marketing materials. But they’re also a lot of hard work, requiring lots of planning, coordination, and vision. For Nick, that means the whole thing works best when it’s truly a team effort with the rest of Creosote and our clients. Plus, with Nick’s brilliance behind the camera, you’ll be sure to get outstanding imagery that will blow your audience away.
Personal Profile
Nick graduated from the University of Maryland with a B.S. in photography. Actively involved in photography since 1985, Nick participated in numerous student art shows, and then shifted his concentration to commercial photography after graduating. Nick learned at the F-stops of well-known professional Baltimore photographers like Peter Howard, Mark Swisher, Greg Pease, Ron Solomon and Jeremy Green. Since then, he’s made a name all for himself.
Nick’s award-winning work has appeared in such well-respected publications as Barron’s, Consumer Reports, Vibe and Style Magazine, to name but a few. Since 1996, he’s been a major contributor to Baltimore Magazine (and their principal food/restaurant photographer since 2000).
A member of the American Society of Media Photographers, Nick has received a First Place in the SPJ Magazine Awards for Photography (Food Pictorial) with Baltimore Magazine, and an ADDY for photography with Creosote Affects. He also was awarded Print's Regional Design Annual 2002 Certificate of Design Excellence for his photography.
Education Experience:
In higher education work, Nick’s unique style provides students with the ability to "see themselves there" the best way we know to get them to make a qualified inquiry or better yet actually visit. Nick’s eye and vision have contributed immeasurably to admission and other materials for colleges and universities, and we’re proud to call him our go-to photo guy.
Nick has shot for graduate, undergraduate and advancement work at Gettysburg College, Loyola College, McDaniel College (formerly Western Maryland College), St. Mary’s College of Maryland, The John's Hopkins University Towson State and the University of Maryland (UMBC). His photography also has been showcased on the “Colleges of Distinction” website.
